NZ WARS

Today we watched the Aotearoa History show about New Zealand wars. We learnt that the Britsh was told that if they keep the Maori off there land it was going to be there's. 

British, charged a group of unarmed Maori boys and killing two of them. The British government sent a letter saying that there was more destruction and fighting. In some of the war, Maori was fighting other Moari because some Moari was folwing a different religion. 

In 1863 a Maori chief got killed so another Moari genesis come in and had a good plan and it worked and it killed a lot of Britsh. 

Te kote was sent to the Chatham ilands he got angry and wanted revenge so he caught a supply ship back to the North Islands and attacked the village that sent him to the Chatham Islands he killed 60 people. The village wanted revenge so they attacked his village and killed 120 people.

Mahinga kai

This week I have been reading about mahinga kai crusaders, mahinga kai crusaders are someone who lives off the land. 

It is someone who has grown his food hunted his food cached his food. It is where you make your own shelter our own warmth.

SUGAR!!

Last week we learned how much sugar is in drinks this week we are learning about how much sugar is in food.

Today I learned in the ingredients on food packages are in order to the most to the least for example in baked beans there is 51% beans and 49% sauce. 

Today made me think about what bad food could you swap with a good food.

How much sugar is in your drinks?

This week in Hurumanu we were learning how much sugar is in drinks for example in a fizzy drink there is 16-20 tea tsps. We looked at how much sugar was in fizzy drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks, juice, powdered drink and flavoured milk. Here are some photos of us doing an activity.
